We provide Suzuki TU250s. Smaller motorcycles are available to accommodate students who need a smaller motorcycle. Students cannot use their own motorcycle/scooter.
The Motorcycle Riding School does provide helmets for use during scheduled riding dates. However, if you have your own DOT approved helmet, you may use it, subject to Rider Coach approval.
If you are not interested in being licensed then a permit is not necessary. If you would like to be licensed in MA, then you must have and bring your motorcycle permit to your classroom date. For out of state residents, you may take our course without a permit, but you should check your state's licensing policy.
All transactions at the RMV currently require a reservation which you may book online - myRMV - Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (state.ma.us) To get your permit, you must pass a computerized, multiple choice exam.

There is a permit fee of $30.00 and you should prepay for your motorcycle endorsement when getting your permit. The endorsement fee is $3 up to $15, based on license renewal date.
No, you do not need a permit to register for the course. However, if you would like to obtain your license by taking the course you must provide us with a copy of your permit at your first class session.
You must successfully complete the Basic Rider Course and provide the Motorcycle Riding School with a photocopy of your motorcycle learner's permit at the first class session. Per the Massachusetts Rider Education Program, your motorcycle permit must not expire until at least THREE weeks (15 business days) after your course completion date. Prior to the first class session you must pre-pay the required (up to) $15 RMV motorcycle endorsement fee or the $50 motorcycle only license fee.
The Motorcycle Riding School will submit course completion information to the RMV. You are then responsible to track your license status on the RMV website, if you do not receive your license within 10-14 days, you must then contact the registry for additional information. Course completion is valid for 90 days from date of completion to RMV issuing license.
Yes, NH, ME and RI residents can get their Motorcycle Endorsement by completing the Basic RiderCourse eP1 (BRC) at Motorcycle Riding School in Beverly. Students from other states are invited to take the course. Please check with your home state for permit/licensing guidelines.

You are responsible to track your license by looking at your online profile to see if your motorcycle license been processed or why it has not. Your license will issue automatically if you have no requirements that need to be met. If you owe the RMV money, have not verified lawful presence, or are not in good standing with the RMV your motorcycle license will not issue automatically. You will be able to verify this information online and resolve most pending requirements holding up your license issuance. You can pre-pay the MA Motorcycle endorsement fee through your profile on MyRMV.
